We’ve discovered this great, exciting and award winning new App called BESTIE, to help young people and children in Worcestershire to find out more about emotional well being and mental health and to help them get support if and when they need it.
There’s all sorts on the BESTIE App. Within its virtual interactive world there are games, digital media, information and instant messaging. It’s also a totally anonymous and safe online space.
The Worcestershire Health and Care Trust have worked with a team of young people and children, NHS mental health professionals and some Techie people to develop the App. It can be down loaded onto Apple or Android phones or tablets by searching ‘Worcestershire BESTIE’. You can also get it on a computer or laptop at www.camhsbestie.co.uk and it’s free.
BESTIE encourages young people and children to take part in social, physical and health related activities, these are specifically age related, so if a 13 year old downloads the app they will only see information that is appropriate for their age. There’s also information for parents and carers. Children, young people and families who have input from Worcestershire CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service) will soon have extra functions in BESTIE, including ways of tracking their goals and mood.
Go on have a look, it’s great.
